What would it look like if churches in Akron worked together?
What if it wasn’t “churches” as much as it was
congregations of our city’s church?
We will love our neighbors.
We will promote short and long-term service to show the love of Christ in our city. We will both create new opportunities and build pathways to serve through existing ministries. (Mark 12:28-30; Luke 10:1-37)
We will fight for unity.
We will build inviting, yet challenging environments and scenarios to help bring people and congregations closer to the alignment with the person and message of Christ. We believe people can change, and that change starts with Jesus. (John 17; 1 Corinthians 1:9-17; 12)
We will equip the body.
We will cultivate environments for leaders to continue to grow in equipping God’s people to do His work and build up the body of Christ. (Ephesians 4:11-13; 1 Timothy 6:3-21; Luke 2:52)
We will be salt and light.
We will help the church of Greater Akron take responsibility for those far from God, those not-yet-family in our Akron communities. (Matthew 5:13-16; 28:17-20)
